To further strengthen campus safety, enhance fire safety awareness among faculty and staff, and improve their emergency response capabilities for unexpected events, the School of Public Finance and Taxation held a fire safety training lecture on the afternoon of March 12, 2024, in the 811 conference room of the Gezhi Building. The lecture was attended by all faculty and staff and was given by Teacher Luo Songtao from the Security Department.

Luo Songtao emphasized the necessity of improving fire safety awareness and skills through statistical data on fire accidents at the school. He explained basic fire safety knowledge in a simple yet profound manner, combining real-life cases and scenarios from daily life to vividly illustrate the hidden dangers of fire, escape techniques, and first aid and self-rescue methods. He detailed the selection and use of fire-fighting equipment, explaining the differences in applicable scenarios and fire-extinguishing effects of different types and models of fire extinguishers. Luo Songtao emphasized the importance of strengthening routine fire safety management, regularly inspecting fire-fighting facilities, learning fire safety knowledge, and keeping fire safety in mind. He encouraged everyone to combine theory with practice to enhance their fire safety literacy and to prioritize safety as the first rule in learning, working, and living, to nip problems in the bud and prevent accidents before they happen.

Secretary Wu Chunli of the Party Committee emphasized that all faculty and staff must raise their awareness, establish a bottom-line thinking and red-line consciousness for fire safety, always maintain a high level of fire safety vigilance, and be the primary person responsible for their own fire safety. Each department within the college should be responsible for fire safety at all levels, grasp and implement safety work in detail, continuously strengthen the safety hazard investigation of office areas and key venues, and build a solid defense for campus safety and stability.
